It’s just me….Staci

I wanted to be Indiana Jones.  Yes, I know that Indy (as I like to call him) is, ummm, a him but I really, REALLY, wanted to be a globe-trotting archaeologist.  My Mom even bought me a small fedora when Last Crusade came out on VHS (yes, way back when).  Instead, I went to school, tried out electrical engineering, and decided that no, I would rather study and teach Art. It was the best decision I have ever made.  If I hadn’t, I probably wouldn’t be here, right now, embarking on this endeavor with two of my closest friends.

Through this blog, I plan on focusing on displaying and welcoming critiques of my artwork.  Like I tell my students, “Everyone is different.  You may not like an artwork overall, but be specific about what you like, what you don’t like, and have a suggestion on what one can do to improve it.”  It doesn’t do anyone any service to tell them they suck.  But I digress……

I am really looking for help in becoming more of an artist in my own right and not lose myself in my teaching.  I love teaching, I really do, but it’s been a struggle for me to find inspiration outside of my schoolwork and I truly believe this blog will help keep me motivated by holding me accountable to not only myself, but to those I am working with to make this venture a success.

Will I occasionally ramble on about my love of Star Wars, Bruce Campbell, the Kentucky Wildcats (the list could go on)?  Maybe.  I’ll really try to keep it art based and look forward to hearing your feedback.

That being said

Me in my teaching clothes..not much different from everyday clothes
